Sounds like you had a very interesting experience, Kirsten, but I'm guessing you aren't going to be anxious for a return engagement. Of course, if you do have an opportunity to go back, you'll know what to expect and can be better prepared. I wonder how long it would take to learn some conversational Chinese??!??

sarah and i took some chinese last year - it's a very difficult language to learn. each word can be spoken 4 different ways, and each way means a different thing. kirsten goes to brazil in 2 weeks (i'm jealous!) for another 'conference' for a week to present a paper.
